Meet Alison

For me, art and photography have been my lifelong loves.  It started with pencils and markers at my Grandma's desk,  filling notebook after notebook with drawings.  From there it moved on to watercolor, acrylics and taking every art class my high school counselor would let me.

I got my first camera for Christmas in sixth grade.  I took pictures of mountains on our vacations, flowers, my brother....you name it.  I loved capturing the moments, the colors and the light.

As I got older I would pour over art and photography books.  At first admiring others work and then later studying their techniques so that I could create the visions bursting in my head.

Fast forward to 2005 and starting my own photography business. I am now blessed to be putting my love for art and photography into creating memorable portraits for my clients and their families.  My style is simple, no fuss, no props.  Only great locations and natural light, capturing my subjects in creative, memorable portraits.

baby plan 2009

For 2009 I am bringing back an old favorite.  This was my original baby plan and after trying a few others this has proven to be the most popular.

Pay regular session fee of $75 for first session, after that pay only $10 session fee each time a session is booked during the remainder of baby’s first year.  (This does not include prints.)  Session is to be for baby only, not family or sibling sessions.  Gift certificates are available.

Have a great weekend!

music for a monday morning

It was slow moving around here this morning.  We were all snuggling in our pajamas, not interested in going out in the cold to school.

As I was getting ready for the day I turned on my ipod, as I always do…this was the song that came on.  It was the perfect thing to hear on this cold Monday morning.  Made me smile, think of green grass,  warm sunshine and happiness.  Hope it does the same for you.  :)

busted

this afternoon playing outside

me:  uh, Henry, did you put some blue chalk on your mouth?

henry:  no mom I didn’t

me:  are you sure, your mouth is blue

henry:  no mom, me not do that

Strangely enough there was a big, wet mouth spot in the middle of the blue chalk colored area on the sidewalk.  Hmmm….

chillin’…literally

It has been soooo cold here, below zero almost everyday.  I’m beginning to think the cold won’t leave my bones til spring.  However, there have been many warm moments this week that has made it pass quickly…like visiting with a new friend by the warmth of her fireplace talking photography and life or being taught jewelry making over a bottle of wine with an old friend, finding how much we have in common.

Another very important event in our house this week was that this beautiful baby…

turned 3!

We celebrated Henry’s birthday with a big chocolate chip cookie, some ice cream and lots of super heroes! And for those of you wondering if the green blanket is the one in the newborn image.  It is…made by Nana and 3 years later it is very well loved and a little tattered around the edges.  It goes everywhere he does.

That’s about it for this week, so glad the weekend is here!  Have a good one and stay warm!
