Meet Alison

For me, art and photography have been my lifelong loves.  It started with pencils and markers at my Grandma's desk,  filling notebook after notebook with drawings.  From there it moved on to watercolor, acrylics and taking every art class my high school counselor would let me.

I got my first camera for Christmas in sixth grade.  I took pictures of mountains on our vacations, flowers, my brother....you name it.  I loved capturing the moments, the colors and the light.

As I got older I would pour over art and photography books.  At first admiring others work and then later studying their techniques so that I could create the visions bursting in my head.

Fast forward to 2005 and starting my own photography business. I am now blessed to be putting my love for art and photography into creating memorable portraits for my clients and their families.  My style is simple, no fuss, no props.  Only great locations and natural light, capturing my subjects in creative, memorable portraits.

‘sam I am…’

This week at school the kids have been celebrating Dr. Seuss and reading.  On Monday I was lucky enough to go to school and read ‘The Cat in the Hat’ to Sam’s class.  Very fun.

Every year the kindergarten class makes a hat in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  I love watching all the kindergarteners walking past my house on their way home from school wearing their hats.

Today they will be reading ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ and making some of their own.  I said to Samuel this morning that someone would probably say something about the “Sam I am” part of the book.  He sighed, rolled his eyes and said, “Oh I know Mom, I’ve heard it all already.”

Funny boy.

oh, the fun we had!

I spent the morning with this sweet baby, his mama and little sister.  It was so fun!  Baby could not have been easier.  His mama got his tummy full and swaddled him tight and that was all it took.  I have soooo many pictures I love from this session I couldn’t wait to dive into them.

There are more to share, but here are just a few to get started…

Yes, he is on a bookshelf, but mama is very close by.  ;)

With this lovely session and a sky full of sunshine it’s looking to be a pretty good day!
